Dolmans are a dream to sew! I love that you can whip one up in no time. The Hazel can be an everyday simple basic or can be made with a fun ruched shoulder detail. The shoulder ties are a fun addition and don’t add a lot of time to the construction process. The swing skirt flatters the figure no matter your shape.

Materials Needed

This pattern works perfectly for Knitfabrics. You will need the following materials:

Garment: 4-way stretch knit fabric with at least a 75% stretch but no more than 100% stretch- Recommend a blend of at least 5% spandex/lycra for good recovery. Good choices would include rayon blends, ITY knits, double or single brushed poly or anything with a good drape.

For the shoulder tie version: The same material as above. Alternatively, you may also use cording, ribbon, stable lace, or any type of material that is 3/8” (1cm) in width instead of handmade ties.

For the shoulder tie version: Loop Turner

Love it

My favorite pattern, have about 12 of them in different versions. Love all of them! Only (small) issue: the neckband was too short for the first few and produced wrinkling. But I have it fixed now!

My absolute favourite

I love the Hazel, not only is it quick to make, it also fits like I love it - a snug fit at the bust and flowy below. I’ve made several in all views - suitable for all seasons! Thanks for the great pattern!
