10 Perfect Patterns for Spring Sewing
We're going to give you this list in order from easiest sew to hardest (in our opinion), so it will be easier to find patterns perfect for your sewing and comfort level. With that said, let's begin!
Ladies Maggie and Girls Maggie
This is a WONDERFUL easy pattern with so many options! The ladies version offers 3 different necklines (the girl's version has 2), there are sleeve length options, so you can go short or long, depending on what time of spring and what climate you're in. There are even 3 different hem options! So you can make a super cute t-shirt dress! All of the options make this crazy versatile for any season, but we love Maggie for spring especially.
Ladies Sahara and Girls Sahara
While Sahara might seem intimidating at first, it's really pretty simple. It's lined and understitched, which makes it very clean and pretty... perfect for an Easter sew! This also has multiple sleeve (including sleeveless) and length options, which makes it great for a multitude of climates. The best part? The full circle skirt! So mom and daughter can both twirl to their heart's delight! It's one of our best sellers for a reason!
Felicity for Girls
Felicity is one of the earlier Bella Sunshine releases, but still SO loved by many. It's so simple but beautiful. With its spaghetti straps, empire waist, and elastic back, fitting is so easy and almost always spot on! There are options on the skirt too! You can do a simple gather or a slightly more difficult tuck (like little pleats). You can add ruffles to the bottom or leave them off. And there are 2 length options as well. One of the best things about this one is that it is fully lined, so there are no exposed seams to irritate your child's sensitive skin. This would make another amazing Easter option.
Sun-Kissed Sunsuit, Dress, and Maxi for Girls
Talk about options! Let's go top to toe. First off, there are regular strap or halter option for the tube top bodice. Then, there's the ruffle. You can do a long gorgeous ruffle, or leave it off for a simpler look. The romper bottom can pull on or have a snap placket, there are instructions for both! And if you love the look but aren't a romper fan? There are also dress and maxi options! All of this makes it a perfect spring wardrobe addition! You can make several options for a varied wardrobe all with this one pattern!
Ladies and Girls Tess Tulip Shorts
Now, depending on where you live, shorts might not be your go-to idea for spring sewing, but in warmer climates, this one is sure to please! This features a flat front waistband with elastic in the back to make it comfortable and easy to get on and off. The front tulip detail makes it stand out and offers so many embellishment options to make it pop even more! Plus, if you have a girl who still likes to dress like mom, this is one of the most adorable mommy and me sews I've ever seen.
Ladies Amelia and Girls Amelia
This is truly one of my favorites. With its unique neckline (both front and back) and pretty gathered waistband, this dress has style! It can be sleeveless or sleeved, with multiple sleeve length options. The skirt has length options as well. And one of the best parts? Fitting the ladies version for bust size has been made SO easy with pre-done full bust adjustments if you need it! It took me way too long to sew my first Amelia, but now that I have, I'm definitely hooked!
Charlotte for Girls
Another gorgeous woven fabric sew, for sure! The open back and button detail is what makes this dress to die for in my eyes. This one is sleeveless, so probably better for warmer climates or later spring into summer, but still a breath-taking option for spring, nonetheless!
Juliet Flutter Dress for Girls
This little beauty is the ULTIMATE Easter dress in my eyes. With the gorgeous full ruffled bodice, full banded skirt, and optional sash for a big beautiful bow, you can't go wrong! Plus, if you're feeling adventurous, the tucked bodice option adds a little something extra special. The added effort and increased difficulty is well worth the finished effect.
Ladies Alice and Girls Alice
Looking for something more classic? Alice is your girl! The difficulty with this one is higher due to the invisible zipper, but we have a great tutorial to help you through it! The rounded collar, cap sleeves, and box pleated skirt make this a crowd pleaser! Plus, who can resist the beautiful mother-daughter option you can get with this pattern? Vintage perfection.
Rebel Girl Party Dress
The most difficult on our list... but another that is SO worth the work! The gorgeous open back detail is stunning with the pleated skirt. The invisible zipper keeps it looking clean and professional. There is so much right with this dress, it's hard not to fall in love!
