Who doesn’t love a good maxi dress? Even better when it has the option for a color blocked chevron skirt! The Emmaline features a fitted unlined bodice with a banded neckline. There are two skirt options: a simple skirt in top, dress and maxi lengths, and a chevron skirt in both dress and maxi lengths. Because it’s such a quick sew, I see you making the Emmaline over and over again!
  • 4 Sleeve Options: Sleeveless, Short, 3/4 & Long

Materials Needed

This pattern works perfectly for Knitfabrics. You will need the following materials:

Bodice & Sleeves: 4-way stretch knit fabric with at least a 50% stretch but no more than 75% stretch- Recommend a blend of at least 5% spandex/lycra for good recovery. Avoid loose knits (they tend to stretch and sag and do not have a good recovery). Avoid also 2-way stretch widthwise knits. The maxi version especially needs a more stable knit to carry the weight of the skirt.

Skirt: Any knit fabric with good drape of your choosing. Woven can be used for the skirt as long as your little one’s waist is not significantly smaller than their chest size.

1/4” (0.5cm) Clear elastic to stabilize garment.

This and Sahara are my go to patterns for twirl skirts! I love the sweet puff sleeve and the blending sizes is always so perfect with my BSD patterns. My slender minime finally has dresses that fit her unique height and width!
