The Felicity Dress is the perfect dress for warmer weather. The thin shoulder straps are dainty and allow your little one to soak up the sun’s rays. The pattern comes with options for either an elastic or shirred back making fitting a breeze. The option for a tucked or gathered front skirt makes this an excellent sew for beginner and intermediate seamstresses alike. The optional ruffle bottom gives a little bit of extra frill when wanted.

I have two granddaughters in UK that I made the dress for without measurements, just using their ages and the fit is great. (I live in New Zealand). The girls love the swirl of the dresses, one with the ruffle and one without. I did one with lining and one without and both were fine. The instructions were easy to follow, although as an older, experienced sewer there were parts/order that I sewed in a more traditional way.

The results were a perfect Sun dress. I tried it on light weight and medium weight woven fabric and both gave me best results. This pattern left me feeling envious of my daughter, Hmmm! How I wish it was available in ladies sizes. as expected of the Bella Sunshine design patterns, I also got a Perfect fit on this one. I love this pattern!

I love everything about felicity. This is simply perfect dress to wear everyday. Absolutely amazing pattern. The instruction is just so well written and I had so much fun making it. This dress just breathtakingly beautiful.
Materials Required
- Woven fabric for both main and lining – Suggested fabrics include: quilting cottons, cotton poplins, voiles, chambrays, and seersuckers to name a few.
- 1/2” Braided Elastic (Sizes 6M-2 – Elastic Back Option Only)
- 3/4” Braided Elastic (Sizes 3 – Girls 12 – Elastic Back Option Only)
- Elastic Thread (Shirred Back Option Only)
