If you’ve been in search of the perfect vintage dress for little girls, you may have just found it! Alice is slightly old-fashioned yet super sophisticated. The collar and sleeve details gives a sweetness to the dress. This dress is very fitted with an invisible zipper in the back which makes for nice, clean lines as well as easy on and off.
  • Fully Lined Bodice & Pleated Skirt
  • Cap Sleeve hugs the shoulder
  • 2 Collar Options with Bias Trim or Without
  • Sewing Level: Intermediate
  • Sizes: 6 Months to 12 Years

Materials Needed

This pattern works perfectly for Wovenfabrics. You will need the following materials:

Medium Weight Woven Fabric for both Main and Lining - Suggested fabrics include: quilting cottons, cotton poplins, batistes and jacquards to name a few.
Lightweight Woven Fusible Interfacing

9” Invisible Zipper (Sizes 6M to Girls 2 Only)

14” Invisible Zipper (Sizes Girls 3 to Girls 12 Only)

1/2” Double Fold Bias Tape (For optional collar detail and optional belt)

1/2” Elastic or Belt Slider (For optional belt)


The following tools are recommended:
Concealed Zipper Foot

Blind Hemming Foot

Tailor’s Chalk or Fabric Pen

I've been sewing for 28 years and this dress pattern is one of my favorites! Such a classic design and there is so much support for all levels of sewists with tutorials and support via the Facebook group. Thank you for such a wonderful design!

Perfect for school uniform

This was my first time using Bella Sunshine PDF patterns. They were great but would be a lot easier if the sizes were broken down into smaller units instead of 6mths to 12 yrs. I did change the sleeve and made them longer, but it came out great!

Granddaughter loves the dress!

The directions were well written and easy to follow and the dress was quite simple to sew. I am impressed with Bella Sunshine Designs.

How?

I can’t even figure out how to begin with this,pattern. The photo shows one page, but I can’t distinguish between lines for different sizes. I love the look of the dress, but can’t imagine using this pattern to make it.
