If you sew, you shop. It’s just part of the deal, right? And sometimes the cost of custom fabrics are more than our budget can handle, as cute as they might be. So let us clue you into some great places to shop for non-custom fabric with great customer service and even better prices!
Surge is a small family run business based in WI. They carry a WIDE variety of different types of knits in a huge selection of prints and solid colors. They’ve been in business since 2016 and are still going strong! They also have a fun tag for you to use if you sew with their fabrics and want to share on social media… just use #feelthesurge!
Another group with a great selection of knit fabrics of all types. And they have some pretty great customer courtesy shipping options like “Hold my box” or “Fill my box” or “Bump my box” if you want to get the most bang for your buck in shipping costs! They also put together some pretty great coordinated bundles. Definitely a shop to drop in on and shop!
Olga’s closet is very new to the scene, but is already making a splash with her fans! They specialize in knits and stock thousands of yards of brushed poly, french terry, cotton jersey and more in popular patterns like stripes, florals and many more! They do also carry wovens, so they are definitely a shop to check out!
Fashion Forward has so many amazing knit prints and types! Like a super adorable panda cotton lycra, rainbow-striped swim lycra, and some gorgeous sweater knits! They also offer mystery and clearance boxes if you like surprises!
Fab Clique has a couple of things some of these other companies don’t. Among them are denim stretch wovens and hand tie-dyed rib knits. But if you want the tie-dyes, be ready! They sell out fast! They have a pretty large following who love their fabrics and service, and I can’t wait to place my first order!
Sly Fox is another fan favorite. With SO many knit solid and print options to choose from, along with faux fur and lace trims, etc, you’re sure to find something to love! Another perk of Sly Fox is their flat rate shipping of $6.99, so if you need more than a few yards, that shipping rate can be a HUGE bonus!
