Reagan Raglan Sew Along ~ Day 6

Welcome to the final tutorial day of our Reagan Raglan Sew Along! If you're still with me, great! If you're a little behind, that's ok! Go see Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, and Day 5 first. We have 2 catch-up days planned so you have plenty of time to get up here with us to finish up!

Reagan Raglan Sew Along Day 6~ Sleeve Cuffs and Hem

Today we start with cuffs. So take your 2 cuff pieces and fold them in half with right sides facing each other. Sew the short sides together.

Now, fold them in half the other way with wrong sides facing to make a short little tube.

With your shirt right side out, Place the cuffs over the sleeves with raw edges together, stretching the cuffs slightly to fit. Pin and sew. Once sewn, finish your edges.

Then flip them right side out so that the seam is on the inside. Repeat for the other side.

Now, the hem. One thing I will tell you that will make this a whole lot easier is to use your iron and lots of pins! This pattern calls for you to fold under 1/4" and then 1" for the hem. Get your measuring tool and measure and press this hem as you go. Trust me, it will look SO much nicer if you do it this way. Pin often to help make sure that the hem stays in place as you stitch it. You can sew this with a double needle, with a coverstitch, or with any number of stretch stitches on a regular sewing machine. My personal favorite is the stitch that looks like a baseball stitch on my machine. I think it's nice looking and it stretches well with the fabric.

Congratulations! You're done! You've just finished your Regan Raglan and I'm proud of you for making it!
