#NewYearNewSews... And A New Challenge For You!

With so much going on at the end of the year, we may have dropped the ball on our monthly contests. But it's a new year, and we're back at it! So, what's our newest challenge? #NewYearNewSews! Let's find out what it's all about!

#NewYearNewSews... And A New Challenge For You!

At the start of a new year, you hear and see a LOT of "New Year, new me" or New Year, new you". Well, as an added little twist, this year we're rolling out #NewYearNewSews. What's it about? It's all about new things!

There are a few totally valid ways for you to enter. First, you can try out a brand new (to you) skill using a BSD pattern! Never tried box pleats? Pick up Alice and give it a go! New to knits? Try to always popular Sahara! Afraid of buttons? Kick that fear to the curb with Adaline! So many new techniques out there to learn and master... and there's no time like the present!

Another option? Sew a pattern you've never sewn before... we have so many great ones to choose from! The Coffee Shop Lace Dress is adorable and not seen nearly enough. The Artemis Hooded Blanket is a perfect newer and different BSD pattern to try on for size. Or maybe get ready for summer by sewing up an oldie but goodie, the Rose Bubble Shorts.

The final option is actually the most fun, in my opinion... And fully embraces the #NewYearNewSews attitude! Take two of your favorite BSD patterns and mash them together to make something completely new! Like these beauties:

Or, as suggestions for things I haven't seen but would LOVE to... try making a romper mash! Like a Sahara bodice on the Sansa Flare Leggings. Or the Oceana Overalls paired with the Rose Bubble Shorts... Just as an example.

Think you've got what it takes? Then run with one of these #NewYearNewSews options and post it in our group! And don't forget the #NewYearNewSews hashtag to make it a valid entry! The prize for this month is an AMAZING 8-yard mystery sweater knit box from Sincerely Riley (winner pays shipping fees)... A prize that is definitely worth trying for!

Are the patterns true to size when printed from the download?

Linda

Yes patterns will be printed the actual size you need to use them. You simply tape them together.
