The Vintage Grace Flutter Dress
I am so in love with the Vintage Grace. The full bodice is perfect for heat transfer vinyl, lace and button embellishments, or big prints or panels. The scoop back offsets the conservative front. And those flutters!!! I have included in the tutorial how to do the optional trim on the sleeves.
I have to admit the sleeves are probably my favorite part of this design. The dress also includes a skirt placket which makes getting it on and off a breeze! Measurements (and pattern pieces!) are also included for both a dress and a top version giving you more versatility.
Now it's time for a mommy confession.
I rarely make anything for my youngest. Most of the sewing I do anymore is just for the business and my youngest is not known as being the easiest model simply because of her age. But we had an issue come up with the 6-month size during testing and I needed to take a closer look. So it was the perfect excuse to make one for my Lilly who is 1 year old.I had her do a quick fit photo to see if any adjustments were needed, and when I made her take off the dress she cried. Since then, she has brought the dress to me every day to wear (She is wearing is now actually!).
I must admit she has good tastes. This has got to be one of my favorite things I have ever made for her. Check out the little mini photoshoot I did of her:
Cute, right?
Melts this momma's heart. And makes me feel a little guilty that I don't sew for her more often. I'm going to have to do something about that.My testers did an amazing job with this dress. They made so many great things and I think most of them made SEVERAL dresses/tops during testing and some even paired them with our Bow Tie leggings & shorts. It's always nice to see someone enjoying a design so much that they want to make multiples. Be sure and check out the listing for more great photos of this garment! The pattern is on sale for only $5.95 through Thursday, May 12th, so be sure an pick up your copy while it is still on sale!
